The project is located near Hanganeni primary school a few meters from the resettlement community area.
The current unemployment situation in Namibia as well as in Swakopmund, was the contributing factor which has encouraged me to start something on my own.
When I started with this venture I saw fruits developing from my own hand for self-employment. This has motivated me to work on this project. The key problem to be addressed is feeding children on a daily basis and care for HIV aids orphans.
By teaching the young, skills with arts and crafts we hope to make them independent.
We do this by providing skills and training in local arts and crafts.
We are working with poor people and any donations will be highly appreciated.

I’m Alex Carey
My work as a “Textile and Costume Breakdown Artist” has taken me to many parts of the World.
This story begins:- Whilst filming Mad Max for 9 months in Namibia during 2012, I met Sylvia, who was part of my team distressing the Costumes, she showed a great aptitude and confidence with the work and soon stood out as a “special person”.
It was through trust and a working relationship that Sylvia enlightened me regarding her home life; thus revealing how inspiring she is, I visited Sylvia’s home and small Craft Centre where some orphans and adults are encouraged to learn and produce local craft work.
Along with her own children, Sylvia has taken on the responsibility of other children whose parents have suffered from AIDS, I felt so inspired by Sylvia’s efforts and what she has managed, that I have helped to raise enough funds to enable a larger Craft Centre to be built and provide supplies of craft materials.
With your donations, the Centre can continue to help the children and adults create sustainable self-employment and hope for the future
Thank you.
